Even an Alabama fan would have to admit that my Auburn guys look pretty cute in their hats! War Eagle!

I took Max on his first zoo visit and we had a blast! We went with my mom, sister, and our good friend Ashley and her son, Sam. The weather was perfect and it was a great day to be outside. Max LOVES our dog, Belle, so we knew he would enjoy seeing all of the animals. He got pretty excited when we saw the giraffes and the gorilla and stared at them with an awed look on his face. He also really enjoyed the weasel because it was so hyper it never quit moving! He also, of course, loved chewing on the straps of his stroller and trying to grab my hair every chance he could! Remind me again why we pay for things to entertain children when they really just want to chew on straps or just shred a napkin?? :) Anyway, it was a really fun day and I look forward to doing it again soon. I know he will just enjoy it more and more as he gets older and can actually see all of the animals, even the ones who are asleep or behind glass. I can't wait until Jeff and I can take him on the fun train ride around the zoo - I used to love that! Max was so pooped by the end of our visit that he fell asleep in the funniest position - leaning over the side of his stroller to watch the ground go by- too cute!! The zoo trip was definitely a success!

Ok, Max is officially growing up way too quickly! He is now sitting up on his own. He no longer needs to be propped on anything. He is so proud of himself for his new accomplishment! He can't pull himself into a sitting position yet, but I'm sure that will happen very soon. He has already gotten a lot steadier just in the past few days and is now very good at balancing himself to keep from toppling over. It is so much fun to be able to play with him while he is sitting up. He gets so excited about having a ball rolled to him - he starts smiling and flapping his arms. He is just about too cute for words, so I am posting some pictures for you to see!

My dad (aka Max'sPops) loves all things electronic, especially televisions, so I know he will appreciate this picture! Max's new mission is to make it over to the TV every time we put him down. This picture was the other night before his bath. I was playing with him while Jeff was getting the bath ready and, of course, he rolled his way right over to his new favorite thing. He'll just stare at the lights on the DVD and TiVo and try to figure out how to make it past the glass doors that are keeping him from all the fun inside. Those mean doors!!
