Me Want Cookie!

Impersonating his good buddy, Cookie Monster. The similarities between the two are uncanny, don't ya think?

A Boy and His Truck (and His Cupcake!)

We went to a First Birthday party for our good friend's son last weekend. It was a great party with two kiddie pools set up for the kids to play in. Max, however, only had eyes for one thing - the truck. He absolutely loves real trucks - he is always on the lookout for "big trucks" while in the car - and he could not resist this great toy. As you can see, he even had to sit in the truck to eat lunch (his mouth is full of pineapple in one pic below)! The only thing that got him out was the cupcake. It was hilarious watching him eat that! Needless to say, after all the sun and fun, Max took a long nap when we got home!

Happy Brithday, Sunena!

Happy Brithday, Sunena! Since you are exploring and playing working in Ecuador right now and we are not able to call, we decided to tell you "Happy Birthday!" through the blog. (Don't worry, I'll still sing to you when you get back to the States! I wouldn't want you to miss out on that.) These pictures are of our failed attempt to get Max to hold a "Happy Brithday, Aunt Su-Su" sign. As you can see, he was not very cooperative! That is Jeff's hand desperately trying to help get at least one picture where you could read the sign, but it just didn't happen. Obviously, Max just did not appreciate the importance of this day. Maybe next year. : ) We hope you are having a great day!

We finally did it!

We finally did it. We took Max for his first haircut! My mom and I took him to my hair stylist, Shawna, and I think we were both a little nervous about how Max was going to react. Luckily, our fears were never recognized, because Max did wonderfully! After letting us know he did not want to were a smock, he just sat in the chair and played with whatever cool things Shawna handed him. I think he played with every bottle of hair product she had! He had a LOT of hair so the whole process took a little while. I was very impressed with Shawna - she had no problem cutting the hair of a very squirmy 20 month old! Overall it was a fun experience that I hope gets repeated the next time we go. Plus, I think the results are just adorable! His hair is actually more curly now and I love it!
