"How do I look, Mom?"

The other day I set the clothes Max was going to wear that day on our bed and left the room to find his shoes. I came back to find this:

Adorable photo op but that shirt doesn't look too comfy for all-day wearing! We made a few adjustments and he was ready to go. He definitely wants to try to do everything himself these days and I am so proud of him for that! Luckily, he will still accept some help from his mom. because I'm just not sure this style would ever catch on! : )

Leslie's Birthday

Backing up a little bit, I wanted to post some pictures from my birthday. I turned 30 at the end of July and Jeff, Ash, Max and I took a fun day-trip to the Atlanta Aquarium. It was surprisingly crowded, so it was hard to get a lot of pictures, but I think the ones we got show how much Max enjoyed it. This was actually his third trip to the aquarium and it has been so neat to see how much more he understands and enjoys it each time. He loves all things fish, shark and turtle related, so he absolutely loved it all. He ran from exhibit to exhibit pointing and talking. He was adorable. It was a great day and we are looking forward to going back soon!

Birthday Party!

As promised, here are pictures of Max's birthday party, and, boy, did I take a lot of them! It was a great party and we all had so much fun! We are so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends.

We did a Nemo-theme party since Max LOVES that movie. I was able to find some cute decorations and I made mini-orange and blue cupcakes (Max got a large cupcake!). The weather was PERFECT and we were all able to hang out outside while the kids ran around and played. Max had a blast. He loved playing outside, eating cupcakes (mostly eating icing off the top) and opening presents. All the kids were so well-behaved and played so well together. It was such a pleasant afternoon. Max was completely worn out by the end of the night! Thanks so much to all of our friends and family - we love all of you!

To Grandma Brenda, Greg, Lisa and Baby Jackman, Sunena and Uncle Jimmy - we really missed all of you! :)

Enjoy the plethera (love it whenever I can use that word!) of pictures below!

Updates

Hey, Everybody! I know I have been slacking on the blog lately and I am SORRY! If you haven't heard our news yet, we are expecting a baby this April! We are so excited, but I have been feeling very tired and sick. I keep thinking of all the picturesI need to post, but if I am not chasing Max around outside, visiting the zoo, the library, McWane Center, or at the doctor, I have been sleeping! I am hoping to slowly get you guys caught upon eveything this week if I can can. I have birthday party pictures, 2 year-old check up pictures and other cute Max pictures to post! I promise I will get to them! Please keep checking back on the blog and please pray for a healthy baby and pregnancy for us!

I also wanted to update you on our nephew, Jackman. He is doing so well! He is almost 6 weeks old now. He is still in the NICU but is healthy and growing and is considered a "well-baby". His esophagus is growing more quickly than the doctors expected, which is amazing. His surgery could be anytime in the next couple of weeks. Please continue to pray for him and that he will be able to come home soon! You can keep up with him on their blog, The Harper Times.

I will update with pictures soon!

Love,
Les
