The Sweet Moments

The other night, Max walked over to me and said, "I want to hold my sister."  I was a little surprised, because he has never asked to do this.  He enjoys sitting next to her while I take pictures, loves talking to her and shaking rattles for her, but he has never expressed an interest in actually holding her.  I asked him if he would like to just sit up on the couch next to us.  He said, "No, I want to hold my sister.  Myself.".  Then he held out his cute little hands and said, "C'mere, Sister, C'mere."  It was SO sweet!  I  think he thought I would just hand her over to him while I went and did laundry or something.  I suggested that maybe he go sit in the big chair and I would bring her to him.  I aked if he just wanted her next to him in the chair.  "No", he said, "Right here" as he patted his lap.  Okay.  I did as he wanted but did not have high expectaions for how it was going to play out.  I figured she would quickly begin fussing or he would quickly begin squirming.  They proved me wrong.

They sat together for a while.  Long enough for me to watch and enjoy the moment.  Long enough for me to grab the camera and photograph it.  Long enough for me to grab the camcorder and record it.

He fixed her pacifier.

She gazed adoringly at him.

He talked to her and patted her leg.

To sum it up,  they are in love.

The sweet moments are the best.

Three Months

Yesterday, Miss Greenlee Jo turned three months old!  It's hard to believe another month has flown by.  She is growing so quickly and changing so much!  She is such a joy to our family and we love her so much!

Her personality is really starting to show.  She smiles pretty much every time we make eye contact with her.  Her smile is SO cute.  She is already distracted by the camera, though, so it can be hard to catch that smile in a picture.

She is also "talking" to us a lot.  She coos and gurgles and has even started laughing a little bit in the past week.  She loves the "zzzzz" sound, which was also a favorite of Max's when he was this age  : )

She is still sleeping through the night, which is great!  She cat-naps throughout the morning and usually takes one long nap in the afternoon.  It is usually at the same time as Max, which is wonderful for Mommy!

As you can see, she still has all of her hair.  Max lost all of his between 3 and 4 months, so we'll see how it goes.  Obviously, I hope it does not fall out, but, if  it does, she will still be adorable!

She is a very content baby.  She loves laying on her playmat and batting at the toys.  She loves to just lay down and kick her legs.  Sometimes she cries because she is tired of being held and is ready to stretch and kick!

She still absolutely hates the car.  HATES it.  She will cry from the moment she is in the car until the moment we pull her carseat out.  As soon as we are holding the carseat and walking inside, she immediately stops crying.  So, it's not the carseat, it's the car.  We are hoping this stage passes quickly.  Max doesn't seem fazed by her screaming at all.  He just sings louder.  : )

She loves her brother and he loves her.  She lights up when she looks at him.  He is so sweet with her and is ready for her to play with him.  He always says, "When she gets a little bigger, Mommy, she can play with Max.  Just a little bigger."  It is going to be so much fun when they really start interacting.  You know, until they start fighting!

Speaking of Big Brother, he decided he needed to pose with the 3 month sign, too.

He gave me one cute smile.  Then he destroyed the sign.

Boys.
