The Sweet Moments

The other night, Max walked over to me and said, "I want to hold my sister."  I was a little surprised, because he has never asked to do this.  He enjoys sitting next to her while I take pictures, loves talking to her and shaking rattles for her, but he has never expressed an interest in actually holding her.  I asked him if he would like to just sit up on the couch next to us.  He said, "No, I want to hold my sister.  Myself.".  Then he held out his cute little hands and said, "C'mere, Sister, C'mere."  It was SO sweet!  I  think he thought I would just hand her over to him while I went and did laundry or something.  I suggested that maybe he go sit in the big chair and I would bring her to him.  I aked if he just wanted her next to him in the chair.  "No", he said, "Right here" as he patted his lap.  Okay.  I did as he wanted but did not have high expectaions for how it was going to play out.  I figured she would quickly begin fussing or he would quickly begin squirming.  They proved me wrong.

They sat together for a while.  Long enough for me to watch and enjoy the moment.  Long enough for me to grab the camera and photograph it.  Long enough for me to grab the camcorder and record it.

He fixed her pacifier.

She gazed adoringly at him.

He talked to her and patted her leg.

To sum it up,  they are in love.

The sweet moments are the best.

Precious post! Les, I was wondering if there are smilar pics of you holding me. Then I remembered you tried to smother me with stuffed animals. So I figure there probably aren't.

I was really touched by how sweet this is. Max and Greenlee showing their love. Then, Brian & Ashley's comments cracked me up. I'm sure Max & Greenlee will have some stories to share later in life but for now - this is precious:)
