Max's Dedication Day

Yesterday was Max's church dedication and it was a great day! Dedication day is always one of my favorite services so it was so special for Jeff and me to dedicate our son to God in front of our true family and our church family. For any of you not familiar with the Baptist church, baby dedication is when parents publicly vow to be the Christian parents God has called us to be and to raise our children to know and love the Lord. It is also a time for us to introduce our adorable babies to our church family and ask them to be Christian role models for our children. (Once a child is old enough to understand about Jesus and make the choice to ask Jesus into their hearts, that is when that actual Baptism, a public profession of faith, takes place.) Max behaved really well - we were so proud! He didn't cry and was awake so everyone could see his big brown eyes. We were so happy that a lot of our family, including all of Max's grandparents and aunts and uncles, were able to attend.

Max wore a beautiful mint green overall with a Noah's Ark scene embroidered on the front. So sweet! He looked good! My friends at my favorite bakery, Angels Cake and Confections, made an amazing cake that matched his outfit perfectly!! I was so thrilled with how it turned out!

I hope this doesn't embarrass her, but I have to mention the beautiful gift our close family friend, Amy, gave Max. It is the beautiful sweater/hat set pictured below, and the awesome part is that she actually made it!! I am so amazed by how talented so many of our friends are. I love the all the special details she put on this sweater, from the adorable duckie buttons down to the fact that she has her own label in the collar. I know projects like this take so much time to do and time is hard to come by, so it is very appreciated. I know he will look adorable in this next winter. Thanks, Amy! Yesterday was a great day that we will remember forever! Please continue to keep Jeff and me in your prayers as we strive to raise Max to be a true servant of God.

Roly Poly!

Max started rolling over last week! He has become a pro at rolling from his tummy to his back and is very close to getting from his back to his tummy. It really cracks us up to watch him - he is rolling over about as quickly as you put him on his stomach! He throws that arm up in the air and the roll begins! This video shows him doing it and I know you will enjoy watching him!!

6 Month Check-Up - Already??

Today was Max's 6 month check-up - can you believe it's already time??!! He now weighs 17 lbs 8 oz and is 26 inches long. He is getting so big! They're about to need a bigger scale to put him on! He got a great report from Dr. McCown. Everything looked good and he is meeting all of his age milestones. He began eating baby cereal about 3 weeks ago and we now get to add some fruits and veggies to his menu. I'm sure we will get some good pictures from that! Oh, yes, he also commented on what a great set of lungs Max has! Ha Ha! Max was very vocal about not wanting the doctor to touch his head or look in his ears!! He had to get more shots today, which was no fun. Poor little guy. He did, however, have a good time trying to grab everything in the doctor's office. You'll see in the pictures below that he was very interested in everything that was going on thought he should be able to play with all of the doctor's instruments! He was also quite fascinated with the camera and we used this as a distraction when he got a little fed up with being there. He enjoyed trying to grab it from me. Whatever works, right?? :) Max now gets a break from the doc for 3 months and then we go back and do it again! Jeff and I feel so blessed everyday that God gave us this perfect, sweet, healthy baby boy.

Mercedes Marathon

It was such a beautiful day for the Mercedes Marathon! Jeff finished the whole marathon (26.2 miles) in right around 5 hours - his personal best so far. We are so proud of him! Max and I went to Crestline Village to cheer him on. Max truly got so excited when he got to see his dad. He started smiling and squealing - it was so cute! Jeff will now start training for his next event, the Maui Marathon, which he will be running this September to celebrate his 30th birthday!!

Always On-the-Go!

Max is one on-the-go baby! We love that we are able to take him with us so many places and he usually does pretty well. We met our good friends, Amanda and Nick, on Friday night for dinner. Max was very well-behaved, the food was good, and we all had a great time!

Still Loving the Feet!!

I just thought this was a cute picture. He is always trying to get those feet!

Fun Visit!

Yesterday, Max got to spend some time with his Great-Mamaw Jo. As you can tell from the pictures, they really enjoyed each other's company. He was full of smiles and giggles for her. She got some really good belly-laughs out of him! We are so glad to live so close to her and I know they are going to be great buddies.

Strolling with Grams

We ran some errands after our lunch date and were able to stop by and visit my mom. It was such a beautiful afternoon we decided to take a little stroll. We bundled Max up because the wind was chilly and blowing pretty hard. He looked so cute buried under that blanket! I think he was pretty comfy, too, because he normally kicks a blanket off about, oh, one second after I cover him up, but not this time. He stayed all cozy under the blanket the entire walk. He enjoyed laughing and giggling at Mom and me and watching the landscape go by. He was a very sweet walking buddy!

Max Loves a Restaurant!

We had a fun lunch date today! Max and I met Jeff and his cousin, Jeremy, for some Thai food. Since we are all so busy, we don't get to see Jeremy enough, so we really enjoyed the chance to spend some time with him. Max seemed to have fun at the restaurant. He sat in his carseat for a while, but decided he was ready to get out at the exact moment our food was brought to us - he has great timing, doesn't he??! He spent the rest of lunch trying to grab our glasses and napkins and pulling on the paper tablecloth. Needless to say, I did not get to eat very much! : ) I have found that taking Max to a restaurant is a great way to help me shed the baby weight! I took the picture below as we were leaving. Aren't they a good-looking bunch??

Super Tuesday!

Max went with us to cast our vote this morning and wore his sticker proudly all day!! We think he was the cutest little Republican at the polls today! : )
