Max's Dedication Day

Yesterday was Max's church dedication and it was a great day! Dedication day is always one of my favorite services so it was so special for Jeff and me to dedicate our son to God in front of our true family and our church family. For any of you not familiar with the Baptist church, baby dedication is when parents publicly vow to be the Christian parents God has called us to be and to raise our children to know and love the Lord. It is also a time for us to introduce our adorable babies to our church family and ask them to be Christian role models for our children. (Once a child is old enough to understand about Jesus and make the choice to ask Jesus into their hearts, that is when that actual Baptism, a public profession of faith, takes place.) Max behaved really well - we were so proud! He didn't cry and was awake so everyone could see his big brown eyes. We were so happy that a lot of our family, including all of Max's grandparents and aunts and uncles, were able to attend.

Max wore a beautiful mint green overall with a Noah's Ark scene embroidered on the front. So sweet! He looked good! My friends at my favorite bakery, Angels Cake and Confections, made an amazing cake that matched his outfit perfectly!! I was so thrilled with how it turned out!

I hope this doesn't embarrass her, but I have to mention the beautiful gift our close family friend, Amy, gave Max. It is the beautiful sweater/hat set pictured below, and the awesome part is that she actually made it!! I am so amazed by how talented so many of our friends are. I love the all the special details she put on this sweater, from the adorable duckie buttons down to the fact that she has her own label in the collar. I know projects like this take so much time to do and time is hard to come by, so it is very appreciated. I know he will look adorable in this next winter. Thanks, Amy! Yesterday was a great day that we will remember forever! Please continue to keep Jeff and me in your prayers as we strive to raise Max to be a true servant of God.

"This is the day the Lord has made. Let us be glad and rejoice in it." What wonderful parents you two are. Love you.
