"Boo to the Zoo ", says Max!

We met our Sunday School playgroup at the zoo this morning and, while I enjoyed visiting with my friends, Max was not into it at all ! Even though he was decked out in his giraffe t-shirt, the perfect zoo attire, he just was not having fun. He was very hot, tired, and not in a "stroller" mood. He perked up a little when he saw the tiger, but that was about it. His face in these pictures sum up his mood and they made me laugh when I was looking through them just now! Such a tortured expression! At least the peacock posed!! Oh, well, he can't be perfect all the time, right? (Sorry, grandparents - it's true!) We'll try the zoo again soon! : )

ZZZzzzzz........

When I went to check on Max the other night, I found him in this position. I thought he looked so cute with his little tooshie stuck up in the air!! So, of course, I took a picture..... ; )

Nine Month Checkup

We could not believe it was time for Max's nine month check-up. It doesn't feel like he should be that old!

He had a wonderful doctor's visit. He weighs around 20 lbs (he would not quit squirming long enough to get an exact number!) and is 27.75 inches long. He is meeting all of his developmental milestones, like babbling, pulling up, etc. We can start giving him finger foods and teaching him to drink from a cup. No shots this time, so that meant no tears! It was a very low stress appointment. Max smiled and was sweet the entire time - even when he had his toe pricked for a blood test. His doctor said if all his 9 -month old patients were that good, his day would be a lot easier!! Jeff held Max during his examination, since his doctor, being so smart, knows that 9-month olds are transitioning into becoming very independent and do not want to be laid on their backs against their will for anything. (This new-found independence has made diaper changes quite the dramatic experience!) It also helped that his doc gave him 2 tongue depressors to play with, so they were BFF's after that. :) Our next appointment is in 3 months, when Max will be -yikes! - a year old!

And.....We're Back!!!

Wow! I can't believe that is has been over a month since I have blogged! We have had SO much going on. We moved!! Yea! We sold our townhouse! Yea! God is so good! So, for a couple of weeks before we moved, all of my free time was devoted to packing and cleaning. Then, once we moved, I did not have Internet access for 3 weeks! I felt so disconnected. We FINALLY got access Friday, so now I can blog! Well, in between painting walls, unpacking and chasing after a very active 9-month old! :)

There is so much to catch you all up on so I am just going to do one big post with lots of adorable Max pics. I may not have been able to blog, but you know I was able to take tons of pictures! The main change is that Max is VERY mobile and has been pulling himself around everywhere. This past Friday he figured out crawling and is now getting around on his hands and knees. So cute! He tries to explore everything. He now has 4 teeth - 2 that are all the way through on bottom and 2 on the top that have just come through. He has taken teething like a pro and we have not really noticed any horrible symptoms from it yet, BUT there are a lot more teeth to come.... :) He is pulling himself to a standing position and can move all the way around his crib while holding on to the sides. He will be walking before we know it. He turned 9 months old on 5/20 - I can't believe how quickly time is flying by! (I will do a separate post with pics of his 9-month Dr's visit.) He still loves bathtime and really enjoys being outside and taking walks around our new neighborhood. He babbles all the time. His new favorite game is chasing Belle (our dog) around the playroom. Belle does not find it as amusing, but she is putting up with it. He knows his family and his face lights up when he sees his Grams, Pops, Grandmama and Aunt Ashley. He gets SO excited when Jeff gets home from work. He laughs and waves his arms around, waiting for a hug. It is amazing how he is changing everyday!

Well, that is all I can think of for the moment - I am sure more will come to me later. Right now, I need to go get the little one to bed. Enjoy the pics below! Please feel free to leave us some comments.

Love,
Les
