Nine Month Checkup

We could not believe it was time for Max's nine month check-up. It doesn't feel like he should be that old!

He had a wonderful doctor's visit. He weighs around 20 lbs (he would not quit squirming long enough to get an exact number!) and is 27.75 inches long. He is meeting all of his developmental milestones, like babbling, pulling up, etc. We can start giving him finger foods and teaching him to drink from a cup. No shots this time, so that meant no tears! It was a very low stress appointment. Max smiled and was sweet the entire time - even when he had his toe pricked for a blood test. His doctor said if all his 9 -month old patients were that good, his day would be a lot easier!! Jeff held Max during his examination, since his doctor, being so smart, knows that 9-month olds are transitioning into becoming very independent and do not want to be laid on their backs against their will for anything. (This new-found independence has made diaper changes quite the dramatic experience!) It also helped that his doc gave him 2 tongue depressors to play with, so they were BFF's after that. :) Our next appointment is in 3 months, when Max will be -yikes! - a year old!

What a fierce little man with those tongue depressors. Way to make your Aunt Sunena proud!

Max must have a wonderful Dr. At every visit there has always been a pic of Max looking at him like he just adores him. He must realize how special Max is!!!
