18 Months Already!
18 months. Can you believe it? My baby is not so little any more. He is so much fun at this age, though, that it is hard to be too sad about it. He is running, climbing and talking up a storm! He had a wonderful 18 month check-up, for which we are so thankful. We thank God everyday for our healthy boy, because we know it is not something we can take for granted.
He weighs in at 23.2 lbs and is 31.5 inches tall. He is meeting all of his developmental milestones, including speaking, imitating, motor skills, etc. He truly did not cry once during his visit, until the dreaded shots. He stayed entertained in the waiting room with the fun toys (while I tried to forget the fact that there are a bazillion germs on them) and he loved looking out the window in our exam room. His doctor was very impressed with his behavior during his check-up. I'm not sure if he would have been so impressed if he had tried to take those toungue depressors away from Max, but luckily that didn't happen! So, for now, Dr. McCown thinks he is a super-well-behaved 18 month old! We try to keep the tantrums to a minimum in public! Now, at home is another story....... : )
Here are some of his favorite words to say (some of them are still a work in progress - others are VERY clear):
"Mommy; Daddy; Ashey; Belle; Grams; Pops; Max; Please; Thank You; NO; Ball; Cookies; Ruff Ruff; Meow; Moo; Uh-Oh; Dog; Stuck; Bye; Hi; Truck; Car; Aubie; Gi-Gi; Yes; Door; Knock-Knock; Night-Night; Pray; Ewww!; Nose; Choo-Choo; Eyes; Mouth; Bath; Balloon; Shoes; There-it-is; Cheese; HOORAY!".....I know there are more that I can't think of right now......
He can show you his tummy, eyes, ears, hair, nose, mouth, toungue, hands and feet. He can tell you what a dog says, cat says, cow says, tiger says and lamb says. He can tell you his name. He makes the most ADORABLE bunny face and has the cutest shrug EVER when he doesn't know the answer to what you are asking him. He loves music and singing. Some of his favorites are "If You're Happy and You Know It", "The Wheels on the Bus", "Do Your Ears Hang Low", "Joyful, Joyful", "Mighty to Save" by Laura Story, "Jesus Loves Me", "All These Things that I've Done" by the Killers and "Love Story" by Taylor Swift. Yes, he has an eclectic playlist!
He LOVES his family. He cries when his grandparents leave the room (they love when he does this, by the way). He giggles constantly with Grams, loves when Pops fixes him dinner and sits with him to eat, and has a blast when Grandma Brenda comes over to play. He loves making making up goofy games with Aunt Ashey and getting airplane rides from Uncle Ricky. He wishes he got to see Aunt Sunena more often, but he sure loves playing with her when he can. He gets so excited when his Daddy gets home from work and loves snuggling with Mommy before bed. He is such a sweetie!
Yes, our little Max has learned and changed so much in 18 months. He is becoming a little boy before our eyes. We are so proud of him and I can speak for Jeff when I say we are loving EVERY second of it!

Happy Valentine's Day!
I spent the day with my two sweet, cute Valentine's. We had a great day, complete with a yummy dinner at our favorite restaurant, where Max (surprisingly!) behaved like a perfect angel. So much fun! I hope you had a great Valentine's Day, too!Wednesday, February 11, 2009
Fun at the Park
The weather this past weekend was so beautiful! We decided we just had to get outside and enjoy it, so we took Max to the park. He loves going and each time we do, he is able to do more things than the time before. He no longer wants to swing, since that involves him being held captive and unable to run! He now loves the slide, especially trying to climb up it (which he, surprisingly, can do), and he LOVED climbing up and down the stairs. They are made for little kids so he can climb them all by himself, which is a real treat for him. He gets a lot of independence at the park that is hard to give him other places, due to safety concerns. At the park we can just let him run and climb and completely wear himself out. We just follow him around and as you can tell from the MANY pictures I took, I was never very far from him! : ) All three of us had a great time and are looking forward to spring when we can do it more often!

Love
I love capturing a good picture of Max's sweet profile. The chubby, pinchable cheeks. The charming curve of that adorable nose. The precious, perfect lips. The cute little ears. The warm, loving eyes. (And don't forget - ALL THAT HAIR!) I cannot get over just how much I love this little boy. He is such a blessing to us.
