Prayers Needed

I know I have been slacking on my posts but we have had a busy month. In addition to our normal busyness, Jeff's mom, Brenda, has been really sick and had major surgery last week. She got to come home today after almost a month of being at UAB. This past Wednesday, on August 12th, our first nephew was born. Jeff's brother, Greg, and his wife, Lisa, welcomed their first child, Jackman Dale Harper. He was 6lbs 15oz and 21 inches long. He is beautiful! Shortly after he was born he was transferred to Children's Hospital where he was diagnosed with a condition called Esophageal Atresia. The top of his esophagus and the bottom of his esophagus are not connected. He is in the NICU and we are not sure how long he will have to stay there. He had to undergo surgery yesterday to insert a feeding tube directly into his stomach. The doctors still need to determine the best way to connect his esophagus, so that he will be able to eat on his own. Please visit Greg's blog for more on Jackman's condition and how they are doing. http://www.harpertimes.blogspot.com/ I am asking for your prayers for our family right now. We have a lot going on. We know that none of what is going on is a surprise to God and that He is in control. We are putting all of this completely in His hands. We are so thankful to him that Brenda is getting better and that Baby Jackman is doing as well as he is. We are so looking forward to the day that he gets to come home with his parents! Thanks for all of your payers!

He is such a beautiful baby! We are praying for him, and we've asked our small group at church to pray as well. Reading their blog was so encouraging. God is so good!!!
