3rd Birthday {Part 1}

On Max's actual birthday, August 20th, we had a small family celebration for him at our house. Jeff was able to take off from work and my parents, sis and close friend, Cassie, all came over for a morning of Krispy Kreme doughnuts and presents.  Max was so excited all week about his birthday!  He was singing "Happy Birthday to Maxwell James Harper" constantly.  It was so cute!  The theme of his big birthday party was Mickey Mouse, so we carried that into this small party.  He had such a great day and so did we!  We love our little 3-year old so much!!

three years

Friday was Max's birthday!!  We had the best weekend celebrating our sweet boy. I have a lot of pictures to go through, so, until then, I will leave you with this one of our newly-turned three-year-old, drenched in sweat and covered in icing.  Think he had fun??   : )

four months

On Sunday, our sweet baby girl turned four months old!

Isn't she just precious??

Oh, that face. Don't you just want to kiss those cheeks?

Miss Greenlee Jo is such a sweet, happy baby.

She always has a smile ready for her Mommy, Daddy and Big Brother.

She weighs 12lbs 15.5oz (50th percentile) and is 24.5in long (75th percentile).

She smiles and laughs a lot and is very ticklish.

She reaches for objects and can grasp onto anything like a pro.  She especially loves to hold our fingers. She also loves putting her fingers in her mouth.

She can roll onto her side, but has not yet rolled all the way over.

She loves laying on her playmat .  She will lay there for a long time and play.  She especially loves it when Max lays next to her.  She will just laugh and laugh at him.

She is still a great sleeper.  She sleeps through the night and takes a long afternoon nap.

We are so blessed to have her.  It has been a great four months.

My Sweet Max

I can't believe it is already August and my sweet Max is almost 3! It is such a joy to be home with him. He keeps me on my toes and usually keeps me laughing, too.

We have had a fun and busy summer. Our days have been filled with learning and playing. We usually try to do one activity a day, and, in this heat, most of those activities have had to be indoors. Visiting McWane Center, going to the library, eating and playing at Chik-fil-a, hitting the bookstore with Grams, playing with friends, and doing arts and crafts projects are some of Max's favorite things to do. Of course, sometimes our activities are much more boring, like getting a haircut or running to Publix, but he enjoys those things, too. He loves running errands with Jeff or me, and helping us do things like fix his lunch and make his bed. He also enjoys just being at home, playing with his toys and watching movies.

He has really grown up a lot this summer. He has real conversations with us and undertstands and remembers so much. He is pretty much potty trained now and is doing so great with it. He went to a 3 day morning preshcool camp at our church and loved it. It was kind of a mini-VBS. We took him to his first real movie, "Toy Story 3", and he sat and watched the entire thing. He is obsessed with all things Mickey, and is super excited about our upcoming trip to visit the Mouse himself, and has delcared that he wants to dance with Daisy Duck. He is a little bit in love with Daisy and Minnie. :)

Below are some pictures I have snapped over the last couple of months. Most are action shots, because it is so hard to get a good, smiling shot of him these days. I love this little boy so much!

Doing some art projects with letters. He loves to paint!

Painting with apples. What a face!

One of his favorite things - using the glue stick!

Playing outside with sand and the hose. This was our version of going to the beach for Memorial Day - ha!

Sitting with Daddy at "Toy Story 3".

Enjoying popcorn, peanut m&m's and water. YUM!

Being silly with Mommy.

Making Rice Krispie Treats for the 4th.

He loves to squeeze the icing!

Snuggling with Mommy and Sister.

Swimming with Tyler.

Playing at McWane Center with Tyler.

Such a big boy! Too cute!

Party Dress

This is what Greenlee wore on my birthday
She was the center of attention, but I didn't mind.
This is way too much cuteness.
I mean, even the socks have tulle on them.
Jeff thinks I am adjusting nicely to having a girl.
I totally agree. :)

A Look of Concentration

A  look of true concentration.

Those hanging toys better watch out.
