Maui Day 2 - Napili, Kapalua, & Poolside Dining

Our second day in Maui was another beautiful day! We began by visiting Napili beach, one of our favorites. The water is so clear, reflecting many shades of blue and turquoise and the sand is so soft and perfect. Even the pathway walking to the beach (the first picture below) is beautiful! Dad, Mom, Jeff and Ricky did some snorkeling and swimming while Ash and I tried to encourage Max to enjoy the sand. It didn't work. He really didn't like for ANY of it to be on him, which, as you know, is hard to keep from happening on a beach! Mom and I tried again to get him in the water, since it is a very calm beach, but, again, it was not happening. I don't know if it was the water or the life jacket, but he wanted no part of it! Oh, well. Later, Jeff and I walked him down to my favorite part of the beach which is very calm and shallow and he actually did enjoy sitting in the water on Jeff's lap. A semi-victory! After our fun morning we headed back to the hotel for a short pool time before lunch. Dad and Ricky had an afternoon tee-time at Kapalua, a gorgeous plantation golf course, and Ash and Jeff had to go pick up all of their race info. Mom went with Ash and Jeff while I stayed back and enjoyed a wonderful, quiet afternoon wacthing and listening to the ocean from our balconey, while Max enjoyed a 3-hour nap! One everyone was back, we swam for a little while, took in another gorgeous sunset, and Dad grilled hamburgers and hot dogs for dinner. We had a delicious dinner next to the pool with the sound of the waves crashing in the background. Does it get any better??
