Baking with Grams and Gingerbread Trains with Mom and Dad

Last week, Max had a lot of fun baking, decorating and eating various Christmas treats. He made sugar cookies with Grams to bring to our Christmas Eve dinner at my grandmother's. He was so proud of his cookies! He got to help put in the ingredients (including the food coloring!) , stir them up, and put them on the cookie sheet. He did tell me several times after he got home that only Grams could put cookies in the "oben" because it was hot! Can't you tell from his face below that he had so much fun baking with Grams? : )

Ready to go in the oven!

The finished product. He was so proud and they were so yummy!

On the morning of Christmas Eve, Jeff, Max and I built and decorated a gingerbread train. I found the kit at Target and could not wait to do it with Max. He had the BEST time and loved the fact that it was a choo-choo. We probably spent about two hours on it, from start to finish. He followed directions very well and I think he did a great job with the decorating. He has been showing it off to everyone that has come over. This is definitley an activity that I hope to make a tradition. We all had a lot of fun doing this together.

Very excited to get started!

Getting the train built

Starting to decorate - his favorite part!

"Gently" placing candy on the train

Testing the product - he determined it was very good. : )

Cute little hands

Having so much fun

Expert decorating - ha!

The finished product

I think it looks pretty good!

Max really is a good helper and absolutely loves being included in these activities. He definitely makes even the easiest projects more interesting and I wouldn't have it any other way!

These pics are so cute. I love the idea of building the train and he looks like he's having a ball with the cooking.:)

Great job Max! I'm so proud that most of the candy made it on the train!!!
